Title
GraphQL Tools: TLS Certificate Validation Disabled in Legacy GraphQL WebSocket Executor
Summary
GraphQL Tools provides utilities for building, stitching, and mocking GraphQL schemas. Prior to 1.1.35, the executor-legacy-ws buildWSLegacyExecutor() function hardcodes TLS certificate rejection off for Node.js connections to wss:// endpoints. Applications using the executor directly, or url-loader with SubscriptionProtocol.LEGACY_WS, can therefore accept an attacker-controlled certificate when a network-positioned attacker intercepts the connection. Authentication material in connectionParams or headers can be disclosed, and subscription data can be modified. Browser WebSocket clients are unaffected because browsers enforce certificate validation. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.35.

Title
Name constraints bypass via trailing dot in rfc822Name, dNSName and URI hosts
Summary
Improper certificate validation in PkixNameConstraintValidator in Legion of the Bouncy Castle Inc. bc-csharp before 2.7.0 allows an attacker who controls, or can obtain certificates from, a name-constrained intermediate CA to have certificates accepted during PKIX certification path validation for email addresses, DNS names or URI hosts that lie within excluded subtrees applying to that CA, via an rfc822Name, dNSName or uniformResourceIdentifier name whose host ends with a dot, because names and constraints were compared without first removing the RFC 1034 root-label trailing dot, so a fully qualified host name did not match an excluded subtree for the same host written without the dot.

CVE-2026-102508 (GCVE-0-2026-102508)

Title
Apache PLC4X: OPC UA secure channel: integrity bypass, unverifiable server certificate, and silent downgrade
Summary
Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature and Improper Certificate Validation in the OPC UA driver of Apache PLC4X (PLC4J) allows an attacker in a network position between client and server to impersonate the OPC UA server and to read, forge or modify secure-channel traffic, including user credential ssent by the client. The defect manifests differently depending on the version: - In 0.9.0 through 0.11.0 a failed message-signature check is only logged and never enforced, and there is no mechanism to verify the server certificate: it is taken from the unauthenticated GetEndpoints discovery response and used to encrypt the user's password. - In 0.12.0 through 0.13.1 the signature check is inverted (valid signatures are rejected, invalid ones accepted), and server certificates are accepted without a trust anchor by default. - In all affected versions the default security policy is None. Starting with 0.12.0 the driver additionally continues silently at a weaker security policy than the one configured, and starting with 0.13.0 endpoint selection prefers the weakest matching endpoint. Users checking only for one of these mechanisms may wrongly conclude they are unaffected. This issue affects Apache PLC4X: from 0.9.0 before 1.0.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.0.0, which fixes the issue. Version 1.0.0 verifies message signatures correctly, refuses to connect unless the server certificate can be verified against a configured trust store or pinned certificate, defaults to Basic256Sha256 with SignAndEncrypt, and fails the connection if the negotiated security policy is weaker than the configured one.

Starting with 0.12.0 the driver additionally continues silently at a weaker security policy than the one configured, and starting with 0.13.0 endpoint selection prefers the weakest matching endpoint.\n\nUsers checking only for one of these mechanisms may wrongly conclude they are unaffected.\n\nThis issue affects Apache PLC4X: from 0.9.0 before 1.0.0.\n\nUsers are recommended to upgrade to version 1.0.0, which fixes the issue. Version 1.0.0 verifies message signatures correctly, refuses to connect unless the server certificate can be verified against a configured trust store or pinned certificate, defaults to Basic256Sha256 with SignAndEncrypt, and fails the\nconnection if the negotiated security policy is weaker than the configured one."

Title
@grpc/grpc-js: In certain configurations, getAuthContext can return unauthorized certificates as though they were authorized
Summary
@grpc/grpc-js implements the core functionality of gRPC purely in JavaScript, without a C++ addon. Prior to 1.13.6 and 1.14.5, getAuthContext does not distinguish authorized from unauthorized peer certificates when server credentials set requireClientCertificate to false. When applications use the returned authentication context, they can treat an unauthorized certificate as authorized, causing improper authentication. @grpc/grpc-js-xds can reach this condition when RBAC authentication is enabled in affected configurations. This issue is fixed in version 1.14.5 and 1.13.6.

Title
Contrast before 1.16.0 Remote Attestation Relay Attack
Summary
Contrast before 1.16.0 is susceptible to remote attestation relay attacks. Contrast accepted any TEE attestation report that verified correctly and contained the expected firmware patch levels and software measurements, regardless of which machine produced it, so attestation was not bound to specific, physically trusted hardware. An attacker who can both intercept network traffic between the CLI and the Coordinator (or between the Coordinator and an attested component) and forge reports or extract secrets from any single TEE machine under their physical control can relay such a report to impersonate a Contrast Coordinator or a Contrast workload, defeating identity verification in Contrast's attested TLS (aTLS).

Title
Nodemailer 5.0.0 through 10.0.1 TLS servername Cache Confusion
Summary
Nodemailer versions 5.0.0 through 10.0.1 use a process-global DNS cache that is keyed only by the DNS host, while each cache entry also stores the caller-specific TLS servername. When two direct TLS/SMTPS transports (secure: true) resolve the same non-IP host with different tls.servername values, the first transport's servername is returned on the cache hit and overwrites the second transport's explicitly configured value, so Nodemailer sends the wrong SNI value and validates the peer certificate against the wrong identity. In multi-tenant services or SNI-routed SMTP gateways, an attacker who can prime the cache can cause a victim transport to connect to the attacker's TLS virtual host and accept the attacker's certificate even with rejectUnauthorized: true, disclosing the victim's SMTP credentials. Fixed in 10.0.2.

Title
Netty 4.2.11 through 4.2.17 QUIC Hostname Verification Bypass
Summary
Netty versions from 4.2.11.Final before 4.2.18.Final contain an incomplete hostname verification fix in the QUIC certificate verification path when using a plain X509TrustManager. The BoringSSLCertificateVerifyCallback discards the SSLEngine for plain trust managers, preventing endpoint identification from running even when HTTPS verification is configured. Attackers on the network path can present a certificate chain for the wrong hostname that the plain trust manager accepts, bypassing hostname authentication for QUIC clients.

Title
OpenClaw iOS Control UI TLS Pin Enforcement Bypass
Summary
OpenClaw for iOS versions >= 2026.7.1 and < 2026.8.11 do not enforce saved Gateway TLS pins in the Control UI. While native connections enforced the saved Gateway fingerprint, the authenticated Terminal and session Dashboard WebViews omitted it. If a user had accepted a Gateway fingerprint, an attacker able to redirect the same host and port and present a different certificate that is accepted by iOS system trust can serve a replacement Control UI page; opening the Terminal or a session Dashboard then allows that page to read the injected Gateway token or password. The stolen credential can grant operator access, including reading sensitive Gateway state and invoking host-capable tools. This issue is fixed in 2026.8.11.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design Implementation

Certificates should be carefully managed and checked to assure that data are encrypted with the intended owner's public key.

Mitigation
Implementation

If certificate pinning is being used, ensure that all relevant properties of the certificate are fully validated before the certificate is pinned, including the hostname.

CAPEC-459: Creating a Rogue Certification Authority Certificate

An adversary exploits a weakness resulting from using a hashing algorithm with weak collision resistance to generate certificate signing requests (CSR) that contain collision blocks in their "to be signed" parts. The adversary submits one CSR to be signed by a trusted certificate authority then uses the signed blob to make a second certificate appear signed by said certificate authority. Due to the hash collision, both certificates, though different, hash to the same value and so the signed blob works just as well in the second certificate. The net effect is that the adversary's second X.509 certificate, which the Certification Authority has never seen, is now signed and validated by that Certification Authority.

CAPEC-475: Signature Spoofing by Improper Validation

An adversary exploits a cryptographic weakness in the signature verification algorithm implementation to generate a valid signature without knowing the key.
